About the Product

Guru Foods Misal Masala is a convenient spice blend developed to provide the distinctive spicy, savoury and aromatic character associated with Maharashtrian-style Misal.

The blend works well with sprouted matki, pulses, onion, tomato and other traditional Misal ingredients, helping develop a flavourful Usal and spicy gravy.

It can be used to prepare both the main Misal base and Kat/Tarri-style gravy, depending on the recipe.

Its ready-to-use format is particularly useful for restaurants and Misal outlets requiring consistent flavour across multiple batches.

Ingredients

The final ingredient declaration should follow the actual Guru Foods Misal Masala formulation.

Depending on the approved recipe, a Misal Masala blend may contain ingredients such as:

Coriander • Cumin • Chilli • Turmeric • Black Pepper • Cinnamon • Cloves • Fennel • Other Spices & Seasoning Ingredients

These are example ingredient types only. The final website and packaging declaration must match the actual commercial formulation.

How to Use

For Misal Pav

  1. Cook sprouted matki or the preferred pulses until appropriately softened.
  2. Heat oil in a cooking vessel.
  3. Add onion and sauté as required.
  4. Add ginger-garlic, tomato and other recipe ingredients.
  5. Add Guru Foods Misal Masala according to taste.
  6. Cook the masala thoroughly.
  7. Add the cooked sprouts and required quantity of water.
  8. Simmer until the desired flavour and consistency develop.
  9. Prepare additional spicy Kat/Tarri if required.
  10. Serve with farsan, onion, coriander, lemon and pav according to the preferred recipe.

For HORECA operations, standardising the quantity of Misal Masala per kilogram of cooked or prepared sprouts can help maintain consistent spice intensity, aroma and flavour across batches.
