About the Product

Guru Foods Sambhar Masala is a convenient spice blend developed to complement the lentils, vegetables and tangy elements traditionally used in Sambhar.

Its balanced spice profile helps provide the characteristic aroma, savoury flavour and spice character associated with South Indian-style Sambhar.

The blend works particularly well with toor dal and mixed vegetables and can be incorporated during cooking to develop a flavourful Sambhar base.

Its ready-to-use format reduces the need to roast, grind and measure several individual spices separately, making it particularly convenient for restaurants and commercial kitchens.

Ingredients

The final ingredient declaration should follow the actual Guru Foods Sambhar Masala formulation.

Depending on the approved recipe, a Sambhar Masala blend may contain ingredients such as:

Coriander • Cumin • Chilli • Fenugreek • Black Pepper • Turmeric • Mustard • Curry Leaf • Asafoetida • Other Spices & Seasoning Ingredients

These are example ingredient types only. The final website and packaging declaration must match the actual Guru Foods formulation.

How to Use

For Vegetable Sambhar

  1. Wash and cook toor dal until soft.
  2. Prepare the required vegetables separately or along with the dal according to your recipe.
  3. Add tomato and the required souring ingredient, where applicable.
  4. Add Guru Foods Sambhar Masala according to taste.
  5. Add salt as required, considering whether the masala already contains salt.
  6. Add sufficient water and simmer until the vegetables are properly cooked and the flavours develop.
  7. Prepare a suitable tempering with oil and other ingredients according to the recipe.
  8. Add the tempering to the Sambhar.
  9. Mix well and serve hot.

For commercial kitchens, standardise the masala quantity according to the amount of dal, vegetables and final batch volume.
